Marble: selected works

In Greek, “marble” means “shining stone”. For millennia it has been prized as the finest finishing material: Byzantine craftsmen made columns, holy tables and iconostases from marble that survive in excellent condition today.

Marble is soft, easy to polish and glows gently in the light, in shades of yellow, blue, pink, green and grey; coloured marble is rich in veining. Its range of colours and textures allows a warm or cool, restrained or festive interior. We make holy tables, prothesis tables and iconostases in marble.
